I was just looking in another post, and, I was thinking of starting a CPU war! Everyone post there CPU Specs then we can see whose got the best CPU does your CPU have the guts to stand up to all of the others?? (Oh, and if you have a pic, post it too!)
Specs: OS: Windows XP CPU: Athlon XP 1800+ (soon to be upgraded to a barton core with at least a 333 MHz FSB) Ram: 640 MB DDR (2 256 Sticks, 1 128) HD Space: 140 GB (1 80Gb, 1 40Gb, 1 20Gb) Video Card: ATI Raedon 9500 Pro 128MB DDR Manufacture: CUSTOM MADE BY ME!

I just built this comp for SWG, it cost me a little over $500. This is a pretty expensive game for me.
Specs OS: Windows XP CPU: Athlon XP 2500+ with the barton core 333FSB RAM: 512 MB DDR333 PC27000 (2 256 sticks for the Nvidia chipset which is dual Ram) HD Space: 40 GB Video Card: 64MB GForce 4 MX 440 Manufacture: ME

Heh, I built this computer over a year ago, costing nearly $2000.
OS: Windows XP/Gentoo Linux dual boot CPU: 2 x 1.2 GHz Athlon MP (Palomino core, 266 FSB) RAM: 1 GB PC2100 DDR HD Space: 40 GB + 120 GB Video Card: Geforce 4 Ti 4200 128 MB Manufacturer: me
I think the processor speed may be a bit low compared to today's gaming machine, but the fact that there are two of them and SWG is multithreaded should make it work out.
I'm waiting for the Athlon 64's before I upgrade ;D I might get a new video card between now and then though. However, a quick look at pricewatch makes upgrading to a pair of Athlon MP 2400's really tempting. Think anyone would be able to beat a virtual 4800 MHz processor?

Yeah, actually i do, I saw an alienware computer about 2 months ago that had DUAL 3.06 GHZ!!!!! I think that that CPU would beat yours by a little, but... Alienwares... ahhhh the only CPU i would buy from a manufacuture...

I know the feeling.... but I think it's a bit more prudent to drop 400 bucks in my box and get close than to drop 4000 bucks into a new Alienware

My computer seems pretty fast but I probably need some help with getting the most out of my vid card....
2.53 gig P4 1.028 DDR Ram Radeon 9600 pro 128mb ddr (I heard this card isn't as good as 9500 pro)
If anyone has any suggestions on tweaking my vid card to get the most out of it, please give me some advice...
Thanks

Thanks Talent If you check out this months issue of Maximum PC (its about overclocking ;D) It should show some ways to OC the viedo card as well as the processor. That is one way to tweak the card
