I'm going out to buy some new computer parts today after lunch, I was thinking of upgrading to the AMD Athlon XP 2500 with the Barton Core.
I've been a Pent guy since I started buying my own computers, and I'm a little hesitant to go with the AMD. Scared of the unknown I guess.
My question is if anybody out there runs this chip in their system, and if they like it or not. Or should I just spend the extra $150 for the Pent of the same speed?

I, on the other hand have been an AMD guy since I started building my own computers. I've got a dual Athlon MP (Palomino core) rig going right now I'm sure you'll have no problems at all with the AMD brand, just grab a slightly larger fan than you're used to for Pentiums. There is no point whatsoever in burning all that extra money (use it on a year of SWG ).
