How will we find each other?

Most of you will start playing on June 26, when you get your hands o the game. Sadly, I won't be home on the 26 and will start playing on the 30th.

Suppose We pick Naboo or Rori as our starting planet and we pick a server and everything.

How will I find you guys on that planet? I know I have to go to a rebel recruitment center and sign up as a rebel right? But after that? Is the PA going to have a building? Probably not from the start.

I'm sorry I'm asking so many questions but I never played in an MMORPG, I'm dieing to know how it is.

I'm not too sure, but I think the game is going to have in game message (like AIM or ICQ) We can find each other using that.

At least until we find a place to start building.

Right again, Janel.

The game has the /tell system. How this works is you press ctrl+t, then type the first name of the player you wish to contact. To reply to a /tell that someone has sent you, press ctrl+r. There is also in-game email available.

oh yeah one other thing dont know when i'm gonna get in cause we going on vacation for 2 weeks on 2/07/03 so i'll probably register after my vacation (so i dont loose 2 weeks of free plaing time )

Here is how I think this business of finding each other should go. We pick a planet where we'l start our base and we'll either start there and then simply find each other on one planet we pick. Or we'll all just migrate there once we get enough cash.

At worst we can just tell and no, we won't be a PA immediately (we have to get the hall first) so well have plenty of time to find each other.

Well, we hope to move out into the wild and start forming our own city as soon as possible. We won't be able to truly call it a city, but we can find a good resource heavy spot and throw up a bunch of houses around some extractors, leaving a big open spot in the center for our guild hall when I hit master architect or we get enough cash to buy one from one of the (probably few) people that beat me to it. Unless they make architect harder before release, given what I've heard so far, I should be building small houses by early next week.

Until we actually get the guild hall up and running, we can create a chat channel, and give everyone in the guild access to the channel for communication. I'll post the instructions for joining the channel as soon as I figure out how That should keep us from having to /tell each other to death.

lol about guild/PA. that's a tough habit to break.

Once you're all in the game, running around on our starting planet, make sure to take a look around for where you think would be a great spot for our base. With everyone looking, we should be able to find the best spot around.
